"Danyluk as Ariel's best friend Rusty is a star. Not only is she the best dancer in the cast, her energy and comedic timing is impeccable as she tries to get the hopeless-with-women Willard to step up and be her boyfriend." -Andrea Rondeau, Victoria News

About me

Marija Danyluk is an award winning actress and director from Langley, BC. She’s passionate about new musical development, mental health for performers + creatives and building artistic environments that are both joyful and rigorous.

As an actor, Marija’s work has been seen on stages and in rehearsal studios across Western Canada and internationally. Recent credits include: Gabriella in High School Musical, Rusty in Footloose, Onstage Swing in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Josie Pye in Anne of Green Gables. Upcoming, Marija will be playing Eponine in Les Miserables at Arts Club Theatre Company, the largest theatre in Western Canada.

She will also be leading a 29-hour reading of Broadway-aimed new musical, Faye, written by Hayley Goldenberg, Julia Sonya Koyfman and Chloe Geller in NYC. She won two awards for her work as Patti de Marco in School of Rock, including Best Supporting Performer in a Musical and Most Outstanding Performance. Marija was also the recipient of the Trevor Craven Memorial Scholarship for Young Actors, which gave her the opportunity to train under Aaron Craven in his Working Actors Gym classes.

As a director, she’s currently expanding her toolkit and pursuing the creative assistantship at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre in NYC where she was one of the 8 selected directors among hundreds of applicants.

This October, she’ll be assistant director to JuJu Jaworski on The (Disaster) Marathon of 1904, written by Tyler Joseph Ellis, Jacob Ryan Smith and Daniel Mertzlufft and starring Christopher Sieber and Jordan Tyson.

She’s thrilled to be building her skills in directing and looks forward to bringing what she’s learned back to her community in Vancouver while actively cultivating her network in NYC.
